We require an experienced welfare rights officer to cover an existing caseload of Tribunal cases. You will be required to represent clients across all benefit areas, before the first tier Tribunal. This is an interim position which will last around 1 year and is on a part-time basis of around 18 hours per week.

Required to be successful in this role

  • Current knowledge about Tribunal processes and social security legislation
  • Substantial recent welfare rights casework experience including tribunal work
  • Case law and experience in presenting social security appeals
  • Sensitivity to support clients who have a range of physical and mental health issues, including some complex cases
  • Good numeracy skills in order to calculate entitlement to benefits and tax credits
  • Knowledge of the process for challenging and appealing decisions.
  • The possession of a high standard of verbal and written communication skills in English in order to present complex issues in a clear manner 
  • An ability to independently manage and organise a varied and complex caseload and other duties

This role offers a competitive salary of £12.35 per hour PAYE and you’ll be working via REED who offer great benefits such as discounts, cashback offers and more as well as weekly pay. Or £15.21 Umbrella rate
