This role is open for a number of positions but it is ESSENTIAL that you are able to work weekends and evenings.
Please specify by using the questions below if you are interested in full time (36 hours per week),  part time (18 hours per week), or Sundays only (5 hours per week, working on Sundays only.
These positions will be based in either Wembley, Ealing Road or Kingsbury Libraries. You will not be able to specify which library you would like to work in, this will be allocated to successful applicants.
For this role, you will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS/CRB check.

The details if the role are as follows:
To provide friendly, helpful and inclusive library services to customers.  To maintain the library in a tidy and attractive manner, ensuring smooth running of serviced and accessibility by customers  and staff.  To assist Customer Services Officers and Development Officers in the day-today delivery of services in the designated library.
Assisting customer in person and on the telephone, providing an efficient and friendly service
Greeting customers and making them welcome
Ensuring effective issue and return of library stock and, where possible, assisting customers in the use of self service machines
Daily cash handling, including the use of tills
Listening to customers and recording their comments as appropriate
Answering customer enquiries or referring them to other staff, or other sources of information
Assisting new customers in joining the library
Preparing stock to ensure it is available to customers
Maintaining the appearance of the library, in acceptance with health and safety regulations
Withdrawing stock, under the direction of the Development Officer
Shelving and tidying library stock
Assisting in the preparation of displays and exhibitions
Assisting in the planning, promotion and delivery of library events, including storytelling, children’s activities and other reading promotional initiatives
Supporting the information function of the library by displaying current leaflets and posters
Using and promoting ICT services, supporting and advising customers as needed
Opening and closing a library in the absence of the Customer Services Officer and initiating minor building repairs if urgently needed
Assisting the Customer Services Officer in the daily recording of performance information and ensuring this is timely and accurate
Knowledge and understanding of different types of stock
Experience of working in a multi skilled team
Experience of working in a front line Customer Service Environment
Can demonstrate a knowledge of assisting in organizing and promoting events
Experience of cash handling
