A leading transport and logistics company is seeking to take on a new member to their senior management team to be based at their Heathrow branch.

Role Objective:
This role requires a candidate with the ability and experience to organise and manage a team of warehouse Supervisors & staff whilst ensuring the business is fully compliant with its ETSF bonded area and our in-house screening operation.
Implementing new disciplines and improving upon our existing warehouse handling procedures will be a key requisite of this role. Experience of working in pressurised environments whilst still delivering a first-class service to our customers and network will be key to ensuring success in this role.
A successful track record of implementing new procedures for the safe, efficient and economic movement of freight through a multi channelled warehouse will be essential.
The successful candidate will be task focussed on delivering exceptional service standards with minimal loss or damage to freight as it travels through our UK network. The ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders whilst engaging staff and peers are key attributes in this challenging role.
With a development background allied to great people skills the successful applicant will need to lead the warehouse operation through a change management phase whilst ensuring service levels are maintained and improved.

Main Responsibilities & Experience
• Responsible for all activities and administration of the warehouse team.
• Clear communication with the team to ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities and team goals
• Ability to implement, manage and measure the core activities of the warehouse department.
• The ability to be able to operate efficiently in a busy and pressurised environment
• Ensuring all staff handle, label and manage all movements of freight within the depot in a safe and correct manner
• Identifying opportunities within the department to reduce costs and add value
• To Coach and develop the team
• Knowledge of freight screening processes would be beneficial
• ADR awareness
• Ability to work co-operatively with peers
• Proactive planning of all resources & activities
• Continuous improvement using lean techniques
• Identifying needs and establishing client requirements
• Identifying opportunities to improve the service levels
• Compiling and analysing data for report management
• Knowledge of various office programs
• Knowledge of H & S legislation
• Ensuring that the service provided meets objectives and quality standards of the Company
• Administration of all necessary records pertaining to the Company’s ISO record system and management reports

• Developing positive relationships with colleagues and team members and supporting the UK Head of Operations in attaining the businesses goals
• Establishing and maintaining the trust and support of colleagues, managers and teams
• Assisting when required in the induction and appropriate training of individuals
• Promoting and adhering to good working practices and procedures with particular reference to the Company’s BSI/ISO standards
• Acting responsibly towards colleagues and team members in relation to regulations and requirements in respect of Health and Safety and Aviation Security

• Maintaining and adhering to Company uniform policy

Information - providing an efficient service and communication network (both internally and externally) by:
• Obtaining and processing information to enable appropriate decisions to be made
• Ensuring accurate storage and prompt retrieval of information
• Ensuring individuals, teams, colleagues, managers and clients are advised of appropriate information
• Ensuring good verbal and written dialogue with internal and external contacts/users

Occupational Attainment:
Driving License (Cat C or above is preferred)

Occupational Attainment:
Level CO Aviation Security - Preferable

Work Experience:
Warehouse Management experience
ETSF procedures and compliance
Cargo Manager / Screening experience
Customs clearance, record creation, approvals
NXCT knowledge
