REED are proud to present a temporary ongoing position for a VISOR Administrator with NYP based in Northallerton.

Pay Rate: £10.12 per hour (full time)

Job purpose:
To update and maintain the ViSOR (Violent & Sex Offender Register) database for North Yorkshire Police, creating, researching and recording accurate intelligence relating to Registered Sex Offenders (RSOs) and other MAPPA (Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements) offenders.

Essential skills and experience:

Understanding of the Sexual Offences Act, convictions, sentences, notification requirements.
Excellent Communication Skills
Ability to plan and manage own workload
Security vetting procedures for the post (MV)
Medical clearance procedures for the post (standard)
Occasional requirement to work outside of normal working hours
Occasional requirement to work in different locations
Requirement to undertake refresher training as and when required
Need to attend external meetings/conferences/workshops as required
Requirement to participate in regular internal and external mandatory counselling sessions

To ensure prompt and effective communication of changes RSO’s (Registered Sex Offender’s) personal situations with Public Protection Officers, other forces and agencies, such as addresses, financial details or on leaving the UK, including changes of name & address spending time with children or failing to notify information required in law.
Research and collate data and carry out all inputting onto the ViSOR database to ensure the information is complete, accurate and complies with policy and practice.
To prepare briefing / reports for MOSOVO (Management of Sexual Offenders Violent Offenders) and Mappa processors when required to do so in relation to performance and investigations involving nominal (RSO) on the sex Offenders register.
As LPC (Local Point of Contact) have a working knowledge and use of ViSOR to fill in with responsibilities when the CPC (Central Point of Contact) (Unit DI) is not available.
Record, maintain and weed registration data, court results, criminal and civil offender orders onto all relevant police intelligence systems including ViSOR, PNC and Niche.
Respond to requests for information and advice from other Police and law enforcement agencies; research, risk assess and make decisions in relation to the relevance of disclosure, whilst giving due consideration to sensitivity of the information being relayed and to extract information from that agency to update NYP systems.
Liaise and advise as necessary with other Forces and partner agencies as required in order to develop accurate intelligence and to ensure the appropriate exchange of information in relation to ViSOR subjects.
Provide support to unit staff and area Public Protection Officers with regard to Sex Offender Registration processes and creation of accurate and comprehensive ViSOR records for new offenders.
To carry out regular reviews of the Sex Offenders Register to ensure that all records are up to date and being managed by Officers and staff timely and in compliance with Mappa guidance. Report to supervision any gaps in management to ensure that RSO are managed under an appropriate visit regime..
