A vital position as a Validations Officer has now become available at Wigan Council to support the validation of a wide range of planning applications in the local area.
What is the role?
Wigan Council are now looking to appoint an experienced Validations Officer to support their Development Management service, a key team handling 1200 Planning Applications and 600 Building Control applications a year.
Your role with the Council will be to assist the determination of applications for Planning Permission and Building Control by undertaking the necessary technical support.
How will I do this?
- Validating applications for Planning Permission, applications under Listed Building Legislation, works to trees and Building Control Applications.
- Calculating the necessary fees for planning and building control applications and managing requests for site inspections.
- Manage the Council’s operating systems, particularly IDOX and CIVICA to ensure a smooth workflow taking advantage of digital technology.
- Establish effective links with planning case officers, applicants and agents, consultees, residents, and businesses.
