International transport and logistics company currently undergoing a massive expansion and restructure that is requiring a new addition to their logistics team. If you are looking for a new challenge and would like to take your current transport clerk skills to the next level, please read on.

Role Objective:
To generally assist Operations and Warehouse staff in providing an effective and efficient management of the Depot. To assist in organising, directing and co-coordinating the activities of Independent Service Providers (ISP’s), employed drivers, agency drivers and the resources necessary for the safe, efficient and economic movement of freight through the organisations distribution system.

Report to: Duty Shift Manager
Based at: LHR Depot
Working Hours: 9am-6pm (Monday- Friday)




Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Answering inbound telephone calls courteously and efficiently
• Receiving telephone and faxed instructions from clients and recording relevant details accurately on the Company’s data management system
• Maintaining customer service levels at the highest standard by ensuring a rapid response to their requirements
• Completing call-backs, booking in consignments and capturing Proof Of Deliveries
• Identifying needs and establishing client requirements
• Identifying opportunities to improve the service and reporting to Duty Shift Manager
• Planning optimum utilisation of Independent Service Providers & Company Vehicles

People & Communication:
• Developing positive relationships with colleagues and team members and supporting the Shift Managers and Warehouse Manager.
• Establishing and maintaining the trust and support of colleagues, managers and teams
• Obtaining and processing information to enable appropriate decisions to be made
• Ensuring accurate storage and prompt retrieval of information
• Ensuring individuals, teams, colleagues, managers and clients are advised of appropriate information
• Ensuring good verbal and written dialogue with internal and external contacts/users

Health & Safety/Training/Quality

• Assisting when required in the induction and appropriate training of individuals
• Promoting and adhering to good working practices and procedures with particular reference to the Company’s BSI/ISO standards
• Acting responsibly towards colleagues and team members in relation to regulations and requirements in respect of Health and Safety and Aviation Security
• Maintaining personal hygiene to a standard expected of yourself and your colleagues
