One of the largest local authority based in London are looking for two Traffic Engineers to join their team on a contract basis till the end of December 2020. It is a full-time role Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
Purpose of the role:
To provide specialist professional engineering service and to supervise junior professional, technical and support in the Traffic & Engineering Service.
The successful candidate would be responsible for carrying out scheme investigations, site inspections, data collection and analysis, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed designs including drawings (using AutoCAD), public consultations, works inspections, report writing, responding to members of the public and councillors, supervising junior members of staff, managing budgets and other tasks expected of a Senior Traffic Engineer.
As a member of the Team to be jointly responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Team and to carry out such Service – wide management and technical functions as may be required; to ensure Service Management Team decisions are carried out as appropriate.
To provide, maintain, develop, design, implement and pro-actively improve the services provided by the Service accord with Council policy and in particular;
- are efficiently and effectively discharges with the active participation of the local community, the voluntary sector, business and specialist groups as appropriate using appropriate consultative techniques.
- are accessible to all members of the community and geared resources to their needs.
- are of a high quality commensurate with available resources and represent value for money in meeting the Customer and Client expectations and requirements.
- To act as a Council’s spokesperson on Engineering and Traffic matters when requested by the Service Manager or Team Manager.
