Great opportunity if you are seeking a role where you can 'Business Partner' with other functions of the business.
You must be an active ACCA, ACA or CIMA studier and be committed to completing your studies. Ideally you will have strong commercial exposure, have good experience having worked within FMCG or retail.
The role is very commercially focused, you must be able to work in a very fast paced, rapidly changing business.
Undertake evaluations and analysis of proposed supplier terms, detailing out opportunities, risks and issues with the Trading team and collaboratively working together to ensure a favourable year on year outcome.
Ensure working capital is maximised.
Managing the status of terms in co-ordination with the Group counterpart.
Ensuring that signed terms are translated into the CIA (Central Income Automation) input sheets and keyed correctly by the Supplier Admin team.
Conduct period end reviews of targeted income with buyers, ensuring terms conditions are adhered to and income generation is maximised, flagging any potential earnings risk for follow up and mitigation with the relevant Buying Manager.
Review supplier contribution report, identifying opportunities for improvements and providing understanding on periodic performances.
Provide financial rigour and decision support in relation to potential Investment stock buy opportunities.
Co-ordinate delivery of the periodic supplier income rolling forecast, supporting and challenging assumptions made by buyers. Measures
Accurate evaluations completed in a timely manner with detailed analysis and back up.
Completed CIA forms supplied to Supplier Admin.
Robust accruals and commercial schedules produced for period end, Buying Managers briefed on conditional risk and opportunities.
Accuracy of periodic rolling H2 forecast, ensuring issues and risks are highlighted to Trading.
Area of Responsibility: Category Sales & Margin Analysis
Work with buyers to understand weekly category sales and margin performance, isolating impact of product mix, promotions, tactical activity and store estate movements on margin profitability.
Support Trading team through providing robust commercial analysis and decision support into opportunities and initiatives to drive category cash margin.
Clear understanding of category sales and margin variances to forecast and budget.
Category initiatives are supported by sound financial rigour and review
