We are looking for a temporary full time personal advisor to secure good outcomes for children, young people and families by providing high quality, cost-effective services based on the experience and progress of children in care and care leavers. Home visiting will be required as part of the role and full PPE will be issued.
Hours- 37 hours a week
Pay rate- £13.74 per hour PAYE
Start date: ASAP
Length of contract: March 2021 initially
To deliver an efficient and effective leaving care service to young people that supports the outcomes of ‘Keep on Caring’ and related national and local priorities and policy objectives.
To co-ordinate planned, flexible and negotiated packages of support and access to universal and specialist resources for young people leaving care that meet each dimension of a young person’s life namely accommodation, life skills, education employment and training, social networks, participation, relationships, identify and specific needs.
Understanding of the law relating to client confidentiality.
Understanding of legislation relevant to leaving care e.g. Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and Children and Social Work Act 2017
Awareness of the criminal justice system and the respective roles and responsibilities of youth justice services, HMPPS/CRC and children’s services.
Understanding the legal framework of rights and responsibilities given to young people at various ages.
Understanding the legal framework governing housing services.
- Must have experience of working with vulnerable children and young people aged 16-25.
- Must have a basic understanding of the law relating to young people with an understanding of the legal framework and its practical implications.
- Full driving licence
- DBS update service is desirable
