Reed Procurement & Supply Chain have partnered with a highly reputable Scottish organisation to recruit for a Technical Supply Chain Manager to join their Edinburgh based (multi-site operations) on a permanent basis.

As the Technical Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for all the production at our key 3rd party partner sites and are responsible for group quality and technical developments. The main output of this role is to ensure a world class consumer product and experience.

You will manage the production relationship with all 3rd party production sites including all aspects of brewing and packaging from diagnosing production issues and working on process improvements to managing quality and producing the weekly brew plan

In addition you will;
• Be the go to person for all technical and quality aspects of production from our 3rd party partners, from brewing to packaging and lead monthly management meetings with their senior teams
• Work closely with our Head of NPD and the Planning Manager to develop any new products and be the main technical resource for new products being produced
• Manage the quality of the entire supply chain, from brewing and packaging at various production sites including the brewery
• Develop a group quality strategy and roll this out incorporating third party production
• Support the commissioning and development of any new packaging formats or materials
• Manage all customer complaints relating to production
• Support the taste panel program for the group working with the taste panel lead to ensure a world class taste program is in place
• Work closely with all suppliers building great relationships across the supply chain
• Work closely with the MD and Head brewer of the brewery in order to be a technical support as required to support the development of new beers and also to support production of our current brands
• Manage the transition of brands from the brewery to other third party breweries
• Support capex investment at the brewery and its commissioning
• Depending on the project the role holder will be required to lead development of some items for example development of the onsite lab or bottling line
• Provide technical support to markets leads for in market quality or compliance items relating to products
• Develop a list of alternative 3rd party contract packing sites who we could use for contingency purposes once the brand redesign has been completed at TCB. (This may also include contract brewing opportunities as well)
• Lead the audit and approval process of good manufacturing schemes as appropriate for example SALSA.

This is a key appointment therefore, the role operates within a fast paced environment meaning you must have the ability to manage a busy and demanding workload, have strong negotiation, planning and organisation skills, be excellent at decision making and problem solving, be able to prioritise, and be able to remain calm under pressure.

You will have preferably 5 years’ experience brewing, packaging or technical role, have manufacturing processes particularly those relating to the brewing industry, hold high level of technical and process engineering ability and a good understanding of draught and dispense systems.

**There will be a reasonable amount of travel involved in this role therefore, applicants must hold a full UK driver’s license**
