Fantastic opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join a successful company based at Broadland Business Park.

If you are experienced trades person in Timber, General PVC or Conservatories and looking for a career change then this is the role for you!

You will demonstrate good technical and installation knowledge to ensure accurate and cost effect estimation of works are completed in a timely manner. Liaising with colleagues within the network providing technical and installation guidance for surveys and installation, to include training module delivery.

Key duties include:
• Ensure receipt of all survey information required to complete the estimation of works
• Accurately and profitably price all materials required to complete the works. To include sourcing and recommending via procurement alternative suppliers
• Liaise with field surveyors, engineers and suppliers regarding technical and pricing queries
• Provide support to office and field staff based on technical and installation knowledge
• To work with the training team in Bedford, to train engineers on core products you are expert in
• Build and maintain an excellent understanding of our branch and supplier network ensuring optimum results are achieved
• Ensure maintenance of FCA & PRA compliance
• Provide feedback to Technical Manager and network on improvements re survey information, inc PDA improvements needed
• Working to high accuracy and low error targets
• Development of product ranges and sales proposition
• Provide robust commercial management and knowledge development such that revenue and margin opportunities are maximised
• To develop strong and sustainable relationships with field operational stakeholders and internal Customer Services stakeholders
• To go to site to trouble shoot and train engineers on correct procedures
• To spend time within the training centre, training engineers and educating the trainers, on own core skill set by product (at least every 6 quarter)
• Attend surveyor meetings / RM meetings to be the advocate of your own product stream

• Confident at handling difficult /challenging customers
• Good IT skills with knowledge of MS Office
• Be able to carry out on site Installation and surveying with Roofs, Carpentry or Garage Doors, both replace and repair (expert in that area)
• Ability to go to site, to resolve complex fitting issues / adjustments needed to deal with failure
• Must be able to deliver training within a classroom type environment to groups of engineers, including hands on training of products
• Ability to manage individual projects on own product stream to increase revenue
• Use of window and conservatory design and pricing software


This is a full time role offering an attractive salary depending on experience between £28,000 to £30,000 per annum.
