My client in HA9 0FJ is looking for a Team Leader (Youth Offending Service) to join their team. £24.97 PAYE £31.13 LTD.

Job Purpose:

1. To ensure effective practice in the Youth Offending Service.

2. To be responsible for the case management of a reduced caseload of complex cases.

3. To be responsible for an area of professional expertise as determined by the needs of the service

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

1. Make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service, this will include working flexibly and positively to achieve the objectives of the Council.

2. Manage and lead staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including developing and improving staff capability and ensuring that staff are deployed effectively to meet statutory requirements. Promoting and reinforcing effective practice in the Youth Offending Service, being responsible for defensible decision making, exercising accountability and judgment.

3. Manage a customer focused service and the effective use of resources.

4. Ensure that the council’s overall vision, values and ethos are central to the requirements of the service.

5. Support effective working relationships and act as an ambassador and advocate with external organisations, working with internal and external partners that provide services for young people.

6. Keep up to date with developments in service delivery and best practice to ensure the service performs effectively and to the highest standards.

7. Responsible for the case management of complex cases, the caseload being based on up to 50% of a Case Manager caseloads; alongside the responsibility for an area of professional expertise as determined by the needs of the service.

8. Carry out assessments, produce reports and establish plans to manage risk, vulnerability, safeguarding concerns and ensure public protection. Oversee and quality-assure assessments, plans and reports produced by YOS Case Managers.

9. Make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service, this will include working flexibly and positively to achieve the objectives of the Council. Ensuring that the Council’s overall vision, values and ethos are central to the requirements of the Youth Offending Service; supporting effective working relationships and act as an ambassador and advocate with external organisations, working with internal and external partners that provide services for young people.

10. Responsible for the management, supervision and training of staff and volunteers, providing regular supervision and appraisal within Council guidelines.

11. To develop and ensure consistent policy, practice and procedures in accordance with legislation and guidance for specialist and lead areas within the remit of the post.

12. Carry out duties with due regard to the council’s customer care, equal opportunities, information governance, data protection and health and safety policies and procedures.

13. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of this post.
