Reed Education Cardiff is recruiting talented English teachers with experience of making short-term impact for long-term gain on learning for a Maternity Cover role in an outstanding 11-16 mixed secondary school to start September 2020. The school has a favourable Estyn report with figures for FSM and SEN roughly in line with national averages; pupil attainment in the school is high with KS4 results across Core Subject Indicators hitting record results last summer. You ideally be an experienced practitioner with knowledge of how to unlock high levels of attainment with impactful strategies for stretch learning with exceptions made for NQTs.
You will be a practitioner with the ability to offer English Literature and Language to Key Stage Four at least with the ability to offer either discipline to Key Stage Five being looked upon favourably. You will have exceptional standards for positive behaviour in your class room and your lessons will facilitate learning for all pupils regardless of social background or level of ability. Applications from practitioners with a history of delivering excellence in regards to results at Key Stage Four in addition to any experience of C/D Borderline improvement are welcomed positively though concessions will be made for NQTs.
To be considered for the role, you will be/will have:
- A qualified teacher (QTS status);
- A good honours degree or equivalent in an English Language/Literature-relevant subject discipline;
- Experience of delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences up to KS4 (KS5 desirable);
- A sincere desire to see all pupils improve and strategies to ensure positive attainment;
- Effective class management with pupils at all levels;
- Tenacious attitude with a devotion to self-improvement;
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
