REED are actively looking for support workers to work within a secure children's home. Based in the Sheffield area, you will be working on a temporary, but ongoing basis on a variety of shifts to cover a rota - earlies and lates. It is essential you have experience of working in a children's home or similar setting in order to be considered for this role. This role is temporary but ongoing.

Your roles and responsibilities will include: 

•Ensuring that the young people’s needs are met at all times.
•Protecting the young people in the home.
•Assist the management in the home with compliance, Ofsted, legislation, and the ethos of policies of the home.
•You must have control of the children to ensure their safety and well-being and assist them in developing an acceptable standard of behaviour.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role, and you will need to commit to inductions, shadow shifts plus 4 day MAPA training prior to undertaking any shifts. You will also need to make a long term commitment to the role should you be successfully selected. The hours are both full and part time.

The MAPA training is bespoke and is a great qualification to have.

Pay rate for this role is £10.17 per hour to £18.65 per hour dependent upon shift time. This increases after 12 weeks to between £12.14 per hour to £22.26 per hour.

Due to the nature of the role you will need to submit a DBS check, and if you aren't signed up for the Update Service, this will incur a cost of £40 (refundable after 100 hours worked). This only applies if you haven't subscribed to the DBS Update Service. You will also have to complete online training modules.
