I have an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people age 4 to 18 who live in the Sheffield and Rotherham area. The client group can have some very complex need which include Autism, Learning Disability, ADHD, Epilepsy, PDA and Communication problems which need lots of support and stimulation, there can be behaviour that can severely challenge so the support is on a 2 to 1 basis and you would be working as part of a small dedicated team. The support take place in the family home or we take the children out on activities such as play centres, cinemas, swimming, etc.
It is very important that you are flexible the majority of the support is in the evening, weekends and school holidays. The support is to ensure parents get some respite.
You would need to have an understanding of Autism, Challenging behaviour, and learning Disabilities.
The right person would need to have the following skills
- Patience,
- personal care experience
- ability to think on your feet.
-Physical fit
- Proactive and inventive.
* Experience of working with Challenging behaviour is vital. Team teach or equivalent would be desirable as would the ability to drive and have use of a car. (There is a mileage allowance)
The pay is between £9 - £9.50 per hour and the rewards are that you provide a service that greatly impacts on a family life

The role is subject to D.B.S. check, for which there is a charge of £44 (this can be claimed back upon commencing employment with Reed), unless you can provide an update service registration with the DBS for the required level. In addition you will need to undertake a competency based face to face interview, be able to provide 2 care references, and attend 2 days induction training.
