Reed Procurement and Supply Chain are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager for a well-established and extremely reputable business based near Blackburn.

The role is working with a leading business in the UK who, year on year are growing and are looking for an experienced manager to join their business and add a level of strategy into the team.

Reporting directly into the Directors and managing a team, you will be providing vital direction and leadership to the department in line with company objectives and targets.

The main duties:

-Responsible for ensuring stock levels meet company needs and objectives
-Responsible for maximising productivity of Procurement at the company by implementing a structured approach
-Conduct review of Purchasing processes and report suite to ensure that objectives are set and met by the team and individual purchases/supply chain members/ suppliers
-Lead and manage improvements for purchasing procedures and structure of department/roles
-Manage relationships with suppliers
-Report to Directors with suggestions for improvement
-Maintain communication and cooperation with other Heads of Department

Key Competencies:
-Preference on experience with imported goods/compliance experience buying from the Far East
-Previous management experience
-Analyse data and implementation of goals developed from stockholding strategy
-Manages the development, implementation and continuous improvement
-Ensure all records and databases are accurately populated and maintained by those within the department
-Communicate company, team and individual goals and monitor and appraise team members routinely
-Providing effective supervision and leadership across the department, including training and performance management
-Ensure compliance with purchasing policy and obligations
-Review suppliers to make sure objectives and strategy are met
-Identify ways to improve supply chain to reduce costs/delay and improve service levels
-Providing effective supervision and leadership across the department, including training and performance management
