A manufacturer based in Tewkesbury with a global presence is currently looking for a Supplier Performance Engineer to join them on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Job Description
Working with the Supply Chain to ensure "production rate readiness", the Supplier Development Engineer will get the chance to work on key programmes as part of a multi-disciplined team of experts across the globe upskilling suppliers as well as recognising and maximising capability.

Working in partnership with a diverse supplier group, you will be involved in up-skilling suppliers and introducing initiatives that will improve business in turn helping to ensure that supply chains are capable of delivering on time and on budget today and tomorrow. As production rates change, you will be required to work with suppliers to understand their capabilities across sustainability, volume and quality.

In this key strategic role the successful candidate will rely on their expertise in the areas of Risk Management, Quality and Supplier relations in order to facilitate and coordinate continual cross-functional improvement activities. The Supplier Performance Engineer will have a direct impact on these improvement processes and will enjoy making data-driven decisions while delivering superior service to both internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will work with suppliers looking for new ways to increase capacity and ensure service delivery – this will include considering production processes, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives (which may be new principles to the supplier) – and so strong relationship skills are paramount in the role.

Key Skills & Expertise
• Knowledge of production rate readiness
• Experience of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
• Relevant qualifications including Green Belt or Black Belt
• An understanding of Machining and/or Mechanical components
• Project Management qualifications and/or experience
