The Adult Services team at Southend on Sea Borough Council is developing and growing their resources so that they can continue to maintain an excellent service to the residents of Southend. They have a variety of fixed term contract vacancies for qualified Social Workers to work within the Locality East Team and ensure that Care Act responsibilities are met. This well established team offers excellent support, guidance and training. 

Adult and Community Services promotes the independence, inclusion and well being of all adults with social care needs. It aims to enable people to have control over their lives and ensure improved outcomes for vulnerable people. This role will require you to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate social work interventions including group, individual and community work as well as crisis intervention. You will work with adults in the community to assess their needs.

You will either be an experienced social worker wishing to develop your career or you may be a newly qualified/qualifying social worker who is seeking your first qualified role. Regardless of your experience, it is essential that you possess considerable knowledge of the Care Act, Delayed Transfers of Care and other key legislative drivers such as Mental Capacity Act; Continuing Health Care and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults. It is essential that you have some hospital or community experience. You will be committed to ensuring that adults are in control of their lives and will have ability to work under pressure and deliver quality outcomes.
