You will be expected to provide an efficient and cost effective service to young people ensuring that their needs are professionally assessed making sure every young person will have a professional and comprehensive Pathway Plan and Risk Assessment. The role requires you to develop a practice which takes a holistic view of the individual, locating them in both their immediate and extended social circles, and having full regard to their overall development needs. You will proactively liaise and work in partnership with other agencies and organisations, parents and carers. You may be required to attend court for specific cases and will be expected to present Council plans and opinions with professionalism and integrity.
To be successful in your application you will be required to have a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the HCPC. You will be expected to have a detailed understanding of children in care and care leavers. You are required to have contemporary knowledge of social work and social work applications i.e. attachment theory, enabling change, and behaviour management. Also, having Knowledge of child protection, looked after children and associated child in need social work practice issues will support your application.
