My client a very successful SIPP and Corporate Pensions Company, based in the Milton Keynes area is actively looking to recruit a SIPP Pensions Support specialist to play a key role in the Pensions Department in ensuring that all procedures and documentation is up to date, in addition to offering training, mentoring and support to more Junior members of the Pensions Team.  In addition the role holder will be responsible for educating the Team to offer an overall increased Technical knowledge of pensions across the Administration Team and be responsible for providing quality assurance through file and work checking, in addition to managing the training and Competency programs of all staff.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Pensions Technician. 

The main duties within the role will be as follows:-

The role holder will work as part of the SIPP Support Team and fulfill a senior support role which will be responsible for a combination of daily, weekly, ad hoc and project style tasks, as well as the training and competency of all the administration staff.

The successful applicant would be expected to research and develop their own knowledge and understanding of the pensions industry using the tools and resources provided to them.

You will be expected to uphold the high standards set by the Business by supporting less experienced staff members through their training and development programs and ensuring that the tasks they are completing are accurate and completed within our service levels.

Ensure that our customers are treated fairly and receive a fair and consistent service in line with the Company’s TCF policy.

 The role holder will be the subject matter expert on SIPP’s in order to provide training and support as required to new and less experienced staff.

 Once training of each process is completed by the role holder, the role holder will need to ensure all work completed is to the highest standard by conducting full mandatory checks of throughout the employee’s training and development.

 The role holder will ensure that the company training literature, procedures and all accompanying correspondence has been produced and are compliant and technically accurate in line with HMR pension rules and regulations and FCA guidelines.

 Identify ways in which existing process/procedures can be streamlined and improved to ensure the team provide a quality service to our clients and connections.

 Ensure all clients/connections receive regular and effective communication which is professional and delivered to the highest standards. All information is required to be communicated in a timely, clear and concise manner.

 The role holder will ensure that the SIPP team systems and databases used to administer Pensions schemes are fully functional and updated at all times. You will be required to liaise with internal/external system providers to ensure operational continuity.

 To assist the team with creating a regulatory reporting system in which all relevant pension scheme information is collated in order to complete within FCA and HMRC guidelines.

 The role holder will complete banking and reconciliation tasks on a daily basis to assist the SIPP department in identifying areas of risk which will need to be escalated to the SIPP Support Supervisor.

 You will be responsible for ensuring all work is delivered within the laid down procedures and within the regulatory requirements.

 Escalate any problems, mistakes, backlogs or issues immediately to the SIPP Support Supervisor.

 Report any breaches or complaints immediately to the SIPP Support Supervisor.

 Where risks are identified ensure these are documented and reported to the SIPP Support Supervisor.

 Work the necessary hours to ensure work is completed with agreed Service Levels.

 Take responsibility for own development, achievement of Performance Appraisal objectives.

 Achieve and maintain competence as required by the Company’s Training and Competence Scheme.

 Provide support to the SIPP Support Supervisor to ensure the overall team objectives are met.

 Contribute to and support projects identified by the SIPP Support Supervisor & Client Services Manager as required.

 Contribute positively to team meetings ensuring a positive attitude at all times.




To be considered you must be able to demonstrate the following:-

KEY SKILLS

2 Years + Experience of pension schemes administration
Good awareness of UK pensions regulatory requirements
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Excel
Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads
Numerate
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
Keen attention to detail
Ability to self motivate and work independently of others
Team player, co-operating with and respecting colleagues
Good interpersonal and relationship management skills
Project management skills and goal implementation
Ability to train and assist less experienced staff members
