Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is looking to appoint a dynamic and innovative individual to the role of Senior Public Health Principal. You will have a proven track record of collaborative working with a range of colleagues and partner organisations to reduce health inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing of the local population.

In addition to providing advice and support across the broad spectrum of public health, you will lead on the public health agenda for children and young people, including oversight of the 0-19 healthy child programme and the in-house school health function. You will provide strategic public health input into the A Better Start Southend programme and the development of integrated children’s services in the borough.
You will also be the strategic lead for the NHS Health Checks Programme and provide input into locality working with NHS Southend Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

You should be able to demonstrate a suitable postgraduate qualification in public health or equivalent, a good understanding of current national and local strategy, legislation and services for public health, and strong communication, negotiating and project management skills.
