Reed are currently recruiting for a temporary Senior Practitioner at a secure Children’s Home in Nottingham. This role will involve you having management responsibility for safeguarding some of the most vulnerable children and young people in England and Wales.

The purpose of this role is:

To case manage and lead on the care of several vulnerable children and young people
To manage a team of 5 front-line staff to ensure delivery a high standard of care to vulnerable children and young people.
Provide management to empower individuals and groups of staff to achieve positive outcomes for the most vulnerable children and young people in the country.
Front line work supporting the young people
Coordinating all identified care planning, report writing and be responsible for requests to and from external bodies.

Location: Stapleford
Pay rate: £16.71-£19.14 per hour plus enhancements
Hours: Full time on a rota basis- a full rota is available on request
Shifts: 07:45-14:30, 14:00-22:45, 07:45 - 15:30, 10:00-22:45
Start Date ASAP
Interviews: ASAP via Microsoft Teams
End Date: TBC with the potential to go permanent
Experience Required:

The post holder will hold a recognised professional qualification

Diploma Level 3 Children and Young People
Diploma Level 5 Leadership and Management (or willingness to work towards this)
The post holder must have a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience.
Must have evidence of continued professional development.
Must have a clear understanding and knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
Must be able to work on a rostered basis, including weekend and unsociable hours, including sleeping-in duties, bank holiday working and awake night duties, where necessary.

Excellent Communication- the ability to handle channelling situations positively with both the young people and staff
Organisation and management- The ability to manage your team, the young people and all aspects of your work whilst on shift
Experience- in a similar setting such as residential care or transferable skills
