The role is mostly office based but some countywide travel is involved. Reporting to the HR Manager you will:
Work with management teams for effective and timely management of operational HR case work (to include: Equality and Diversity, Harassment and Bullying, Performance and Capability, Disciplinary cases / conduct, Grievances, Sickness Absence Management and flexible working applications).
Ensure that HR solutions improve organisational efficiency and realise business objectives while actively influencing a high performance culture.
With support from the HR Manager be the main point of contact and support for managers and staff for organisation change processes and service redesign and staff in relation to job design, redeployment, redundancy, TUPE transfers etc.
Develop drafts of new HR policies and procedures as requested. Propose changes to existing policies.
Analyse complex HR issues, statistics, identifying trends and making recommendations.
Ensure that all disputes and issues are managed in line with policies and procedures and contribute to positive resolutions of issues.
Provide support and advice during 1:1 meetings with managers, staff and staff representatives.
Support and advise managers on Sickness Absence Management so contributing to the reduction the absence rates across the organisation.
Carry out research or projects and write reports as requested by the HR Manager.
Ensure exposure to risk and liability in employment terms is limited ensuring any unusually complex or serious employee issue is escalated to the HR Manager appropriately and in a timely manner.
To support managers in the application of HR policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
Develop and deliver training (alongside the Training function) ensuring staff and managers are knowledgeable with policies, procedures and employment legislation.
Maintain, develop and monitor HR administrative systems.
Qualified to degree level and 3 years relevant experience or equivalent
Graduate Level Membership of CIPD
Hold a driving licence (county wide travel involved)
Demonstrable HR Generalist knowledge (such as: drafting policies, managing sickness, disciplinary, performance and grievance issues) in a complex organisation
Ability to work autonomously, escalating situations where appropriate
Current employment law knowledge and evidence based practice
Have HR system experience and be IT literate with the ability to produce reports
Have good analytical and problem solving skills
Temporary position, salary range is from £13.00 to £17.00 per hour dependent upon experience
