We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Claims Handler in Manchester.

• Dealing with new claims
• Answering the phone and making outbound calls
• DVLA/MID/Vehicle Web Check searches
• Scanning and allocation of post, shredding
• Investigation of and assessment of liability
• Customer care
• Notification of claims to insurers
• Appointment of solicitors and hire companies
• Advising clients on all recoverable heads of claim and liability prospects
• Updating clients and referrers regularly throughout the life of each claim
• TP intervention
• MIB claims
• Awareness of what constitutes a complaint and procedure to follow
• Sending and answering letters/faxes/email/sms
• Quantum negotiations/disputes
• Liability negotiations/disputes
• The use of case law/statutes/highway code
• Using Proclaim case management system; ensuring all calls, correspondence any diary tasks or other action required are logged accurately
• Meeting and exceeding targets
• Providing training, support, mentoring of team members
• Helping clients
• Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriate solutions
• Attending team meetings, training and sharing best practice with colleagues
• Maintaining a friendly and helpful attitude to clients, potential clients and staff and ensuring MAPS is always presented in a positive manner.
• Use of computer system in accordance with MAPS procedures, including ICT and social media policies.
• Occasional tasks from the office at the discretion of the management and any additional ad-hoc duties as required.
• Informing Senior Management of any personal or health issues that are causing concern and of any change of personal information such as home address, telephone number etc.
