I am currently recruiting for a senior category manager on a 12 month fix term contract to work within a busy procurement department in a Sheffield Hospital.

Senior Category Manager The purpose of the role is for the right candidate to take responsibility for negotiating high value tenders and goods for various services within the trust.  To be able to develop strategies to meet different procurement needs.

Main duties:
-Development and implantation of procurement strategy
-To deliver against agreed annual cost targets and produce reports on actions taken
-Develop supplier relationships
-To liaise with senior purchasing staff
-To ensure that financial instructions, standing order and EU regulations are followed and explained to staff within the trust
-Conduct high value tenders in line with EY legislation
-Conduct detailed evaluation of tender returns using appropriate financial assessment and purchasing supply criteria
-Prepare freedom of information files and prepare to respond to requests
-Prepare and update tender reports
-To monitor supplier performance and liaise with various suppliers to resolve problems

The role is fix term for 12 months, full time hours Monday - Friday. Pay starting from £30,459 to £40,150 dependant on experience.
