Our client is an award winning international events management business.  Due to continued growth they are currently looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable specialist to manage relationships with their key suppliers both here in the UK and internationally.

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and working in a fast paced, sometimes hectic and demanding environment, this is a great opportunity for someone who is well organised, resiliant, quick thinking and keen to engage with people - you will not be processing invoices in this AP role... it's really about managing relationships and payments.

Core areas of responsibility:
• Develop close relationships with relevant group suppliers through weekly calls to discuss the account and manage frequent payments & reconciliation
• Maintain excellent communication lines with all members of the company
• Work closely with the Accounts Payable Team Leader in managing aged creditors
• Provide team cover where applicable
• Provide assistance to the Accounts Payable Team Leader where appropriate
• Reconciliation of key accounts as required by line manager & other management
• Collaborate with other finance teams as required by line manager
• Play an active role in managing aged creditors
• Learn the process to be able to undertake statement reconciliations
• Provide analysis of debts for suppliers as required
• Involvement in process implementation in collaboration with the Accounts Payable Team Leader
• Effectively manage deadlines set by the Accounts Payable Team Leader

Required Experience:
• Relevant experience in a similar role
• Ability to deal with conflict in a diplomatic and professional way
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening skills
• Excellent organisational and numerical skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to find middle ground and resolve issues
• Excellent collaborative working skills, engaging with operations (delivery), sales and other parts of the finance team
• Proven ability to interpret information to deliver results
• Dynamic and enthusiastic team player
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to manage individual and team deadlines and objectives
• Ability to contribute to and work in accordance with policies and procedures
