SEN Support Worker – 1:1 Intervention Worker – 1:1 Teaching Assistant

We are working with an EXCEPTIONAL school on a unique and inspiring role. We are looking for an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with a child of 4 years old who has Down syndrome. This is a long-term role to start from September.

Are you an LSA, TA or perhaps an SEN Teacher with Makaton experience wanting to step into a life changing role?


About this role:
o Working 1:1 with a pupil in the reception class with Down syndrome on a part time of full time basis.
o This pupil is new to school so will need 1:1 support throughout the day.
o Adapting a hands on approach to all learning as this will not just be a classroom job, you will need to be creative and practical in organising activities.
o Assisting with the development and implementation of health care plans.

The ideal Candidate:

o Will be knowledgeable in terms of working with SEN and Managing behaviour.
o Makaton is desirable but not essential for this role
o You will need to calming and nurturing but with a bubbly persona
o Adaptable to any environment and able to use initiative.
o You will need to be able to commit to a 34 hour week, Monday to Friday.
o You will need to have a minimum Level 2 Qualification and experience is essential for this role.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check.
