Reed Education Bristol are currently working with a great SEN school based in Somerset, on an exciting new role for an SEN Teaching Assistant.

To start ASAP, the school are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their welcoming, friendly and committed team.

The Taunton based SEN school are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is happy and confident working with pupils with a range of special educational needs.

The School:

• Ofsted rated Good.
• They are a small specialist school, who cater for pupils aged 10 – 17, with complex social and learning difficulties.
• They have an excellent team of teachers, SEN Teaching Assistants and therapists, whose work is enhanced by the fantastic resources and facilities available.
• The school aims to provide an education that is engaging, promotes a positive attitude to learning, and helps the pupils develop the necessary skills to be independent and manage their own behaviour.

What you will need:

• A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning.
• Experience of working with children/young people with learning difficulties and managing challenging behaviour.
• Team Teach would be ideal, but is not essential.
• You should be committed to enabling the pupils to overcome their challenges and achieve their potential.
• You will help the teacher to identify individual needs and provide effective support in a safe, stimulating and supportive environment.
• Good communication skills, patience and a sense of humour.
