Reed Education Reading are currently working closely with a “Good” Secondary School to recruit for a SEN Teaching Assistant for the specialist ASC resource.
The position, to start as soon as possible, is offered on a temporary long term basis covering maternity.
The role would be supporting the ASC resource base, working with children diagnosed on the autism spectrum with an EHCP.
The centre at is a brand new resource base, with amazing facilities. This is based within a mainstream secondary school in Reading however separate from the main school. Students attending the resource base also benefit from mainstream education in their timetable.
The school is an oversubscribed, high performing, co-educational school of 870 pupils which includes a thriving Sixth Form. Once again graded as "Good" by OFSTED, the inspectors described behaviour as ‘typically superb’, in a school where ‘respect, dignity and equality of opportunity are inherent’. In 2015 the school's excellent progress placed it in the top 17% of schools in England. The School has been on the Sunday Times published list of the top 500 state schools in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
The School has also been the Reading Secondary School of the Year for Sport in 2014 and in 2015 - in part a recognition of the excellence that exists in rugby at the school - we hold the RFU "Gold" standard and enthusiastically take part in their "All Schools" programme.
