Reed Education Bristol are currently working with a fantastic SEN school on an exciting SEN LSA role in the central Bristol area,

This school are looking for a candidate to start as soon as possible and join their dynamic team in this fantastic school,

The School:
• The school caters for children with an official statement of SEN, mainly in areas such as MLD, SLCN, SEMH, ASC.
• The children who attend the school range from the age of 5 – 16
• They teach two curriculums equally, these being The National Curriculum and also teaching the children to learn about themselves and how they can successfully fit into wider contexts in the school, community, nation and in family life.

The Role:
• The role will give you insight into working in a SEN school with children with a variety of needs, helping them achieve their goals and encourage them where needed.
• As an SEN LSA for this school, you will work closely with children in the classes. This may involve working with one child specifically in lessons and in 1:1 tutor sessions, or alternatively, group work with multiple children in the class.
• As an SEN LSA, the role will require you to help the teacher in lesson where needed. This could either be by helping a particular child/group regain focus in lesson or alternatively help create an engaging environment in which they focus.

What you will need:
• Ideally you will have experience working with children with either MLD, SLCN, SEMH or ASC.
• You will need to have a calm, caring and nurturing nature. Ideally having examples of this being put into practice.
• You will need to willing to be consistent and engaged – the children who attend this school need continuity from staff.
• Ideally you will have experience in managing and diffusing tense and difficult situations in the past – an example of this would be ideal.
