Reed Education is supporting a Special School in East Sussex recruit an English teacher on a long term basis. You will enjoy driving school improvement on literacy and have an understanding of how to meet the additional needs of pupils in a specialist provision to join their multi-disciplinary staff team. This is an excellent opportunity to build on and consolidate the significant improvements within the English department. Due to the nature of the children, the ideal candidate will able to differentiate the learning levels range from P7 to GCSE with class sizes of 10.
This SEN school is for pupils aged between 7-19, 50% are residential. The children have severe and complex Speech, Language and Communication disabilities. Pupils may also have additional physical and medical difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, autism, epilepsy, acquired brain injury and hearing impairments.
The school itself is well-equipped and the staff here are very welcoming and supportive. This is an interesting teaching opportunity for someone with or without SEN teaching experience which does require recent English curriculum knowledge.
