REED are proud to present an Organisational Support Officer position with NYP at their Fulford Road site on a temporary ongoing basis.

Pay Rate: £8.68 per hour
Hours: Part Time 18.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)


To provide a high quality multi-disciplined support service for members of the public, police officers and other support staff personnel.
Provides administration (including financial and Procurement) support to NYP.

Main responsibilities

To receive enquiries from, and give advice to, members of the public either by telephone, in person or in writing ensuring that they are dealt with in a courteous and efficient manner and that a high quality service is provided.
To undertake a number of general duties associated with but not limited to complaints, HORT 1 and 2 productions, issuing of cautions, Fixed Penalty Notices and Data Protection requests as directed by management.
To undertake a number of more complex duties associated with but not limited to administrations associated with bail, registering of foreign nationals and registering sex offenders as required.
To deal with administrative and financial matters.
Ensuring that all relevant legislation, Force and Area policies are complied with.
To import and interrogate existing computer applications, including analysis and the provision of management information.
To conduct PNC checks as and when required.
To provide flexible support within the Area Admin Support Team as and when required.
To co-ordinate the maintenance and repair of police vehicles as and when required.
Making regular checks of property for the Area. 
Receiving, checking, storing and disposing of all items of found property/property other than found, including firearms, cycles and vehicles.   Liaison with auctioneers in accordance with Regulations.
Sorting and attempting to identify items of property and cross-referencing with lost property file.
Contacting owners/losers of identifiable property and arrange collection/disposal by hand or by post.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Well developed communication skills demonstrable both verbally and in writing.
Previous experience of using Microsoft Office packages such as excel, word and outlook.
Experience of working in a customer service environment is desirable but not essential.
Audio typing and typing qualifications such as RSA are desirable but not essential.
