A Deputy SENCO is required for a lovely free school in the heart of Surrey. This is a full time and permanent position and is the chance to be part of a supportive and successful team within the school. The role would suit an SEN teacher who is looking to develop their key skills and to progress within the SEN setting in a mainstream secondary school.
You will need:
- To be educated to Degree level or equivalent and have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Experience of working with young people in both 1:1 and small groups (ideally in a Secondary School setting)
- You will have a good understanding and/or experience of current developments in KS3, KS4 & KS5 curriculum regarding SEND. An understanding of alternative curriculum pathways for lower ability students would be particularly desirable
- To have a good understanding of recent changes in Surrey SEND and a good understanding of SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Equality Act 2010
The salary banding for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience.
