Humanities Teacher – September 2020

We are currently working with a Secondary school within the Milton Keynes area who are looking for Humanities Teacher to join their team on a Full Time/Permanent Basis for September 2020. This is the perfect role for a committed and professional individual, dedicated to teaching and motivating their students.
• Ability to teach History and/or Geography up to A Level.
This History/Geography Teacher position is suited to an individual whose vast understanding and enthusiasm for their subject enables them to teach students upon a diverse range of topics. Becoming part of a creative Humanities department, the appointed History Teacher will possess a determination to cultivate an engaging learning environment that encourages students to think independently and imaginatively. As a Teacher at this positive school, you will be becoming an important part of this popular Humanities Department.
To assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the Curriculum Area and Department.
To plan and prepare courses and lessons.
To contribute to the whole school’s planning activities.
To work with the Excellence Co-ordinator and Director of Studies/Head of Department to match work well to students’ needs on Strategy, etc.
To promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and of the tutor group as a whole.
To register students, accompany them to assemblies, encourage their full attendance at all lessons and their participation in other aspects of Academy life.
To evaluate and monitor the progress of students and keep up-to-date student records as may be required.
To alert the appropriate staff to problems experienced by students and to make recommendations as to how these may be resolved.
To communicate as appropriate, with the parents of students and with persons or bodies outside the Academy concerned with the welfare of individual students, after consultation with the appropriate staff
To apply the Behaviour Management systems so that effective learning can take place.
To undertake assessment of students as requested by external examination bodies, departmental and Academy procedures.
You will need:
- Experience Teaching History and Geography from KS3 to KS5
- Must have QTS
- QTS Essential
- DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Relevant Degree for History/Geography
- This role is paid to scale
- Positive career progression
