REED Education are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant for our alternative provision client based in the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough. This is a long term post with an immediate start.
About the school:
Providing education and support for Key Stage 3 and 4 learners who are not accessing mainstream schools, the school believe in providing opportunities to enable pupils to flourish and thrive through character building opportunities and a balanced curriculum.
All learners have SEBD and with this in mind, the pupils can at times display quite challenging behaviour towards themselves, other pupils and yourself as a staff member therefore, the role would suit a strong character who is resilient, firm but fair, caring and can show empathy when needed.
Although sometimes challenging, the rewards that come from assisting pupils with SEBD will offer great job satisfaction and sense of achievement.
About the role:
The school are looking for a resilient, firm but fair and empathic Teaching Assistant to support KS3 and KS4 learners with their Science and Maths. The post holder will also be required to engage with learners through a variety of different sporting activities. This is a fulltime position working Monday to Friday during term time on a long term basis. Within this post, the successful Teaching Assistant will also be required to provide 10 hours of 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil. To provide the best level of support to the learners, previous experience of within SEBD or a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) is essential.
