Reed is assisting Southend’s Pier and Foreshore Team to recruit seasonal staff ahead of a busy summer.
This post is being offered on a temporary basis, starting as soon as possible and running through until the end September 2017, at 37 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity for those with excellent customer service skills, a good knowledge of Southend and practical ‘hands on’ skills to join an established team promoting Southend’s best loved attraction, it’s fabulous beaches, and a vast array of reasons why tourists would want to visit the Town.

The job includes keeping the Pier and Foreshore ready for thousands of visitors over the summer, selling admission tickets and merchandise, keeping it clean and litter free, alongside ensuring the customers have an enjoyable and informed experience.

The role also includes patrolling award winning beaches, ensuring visitors have a safe and enjoyable time, collecting launching fees, reporting any defects and checking life- saving equipment. It is a great opportunity to have an active involvement with the events that the team partake in throughout the summer.

The team are seeking individuals with strong customer service skills, especially with front line customers as this is a key responsibility of this role. Applicants will have the ability to communicate well, experience of cash handling, be able to use their own initiative, and will ideally have a first aid qualification or at least the ability to provide first aid. There will also be cleaning duties and applicants will have the ability to undertake light maintenance.

The role involves working weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays so naturally you will need to be flexible.
