Job Title: Science Technician - Physics and Computing 
Location: Croydon, Surrey 
Salary: £19,061 - £19,861 per annum 
Hours: Full Time

Our REED Education FE branch are currently working with a Great College on an exciting new role in the Surrey area. 

Starting immediately, the college are looking for an outstanding Science Technician to join them on a temporary basis.

The College:

With over 8,000 students our client is one of the largest and most successful providers of Further (college) and Higher (university) Education courses in the South East, judged Good at all levels in all areas by external inspections by Ofsted and the Quality Assurance Agency (for Higher Education).

The Role:

· To carry out the tasks necessary for the facilitation of course delivery across the specialist areas.
·To organise equipment and rooms for specific lessons across the specialist
·To order, take delivery of and regulate the stock required by the area.
·To keep stock records of equipment and consumables.
·To be aware of the safety manual and work in compliance with its requirements.
·To catalogue and prepare resources in the laboratories and rooms including
books, slides and videos.
·To assist students preparing for examinations and portfolio completion.
·To help students with the technical aspects of their work across the specialist
·To undertake any other duties as required from time to time by the principal

What you will need:

· Minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English 
· Evidence of good general education 
· Evidence of a current First Aid at work qualification or the willingness to work towards one in the first 12 months of service. 
· CLEAPSS qualification - Practical Science and DT in Schools qualification
· COSSHH qualification
· Previous experience as a Science Technician
· Knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Biology
· Good classroom management
