Reed Education are supporting a new SEN school in the Horsham area to recruit for a permanent Teacher of Science for Key Stage 3 and 4.
This is a full time, permanent opportunity to start January 2021.
Due to the very rural location of this school, you will need to be a driver with access to a vehicle.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop schemes of work and plan lessons in line with national objectives. Encourage, monitor and record the progress of individual pupils and devise and adapt resources to suit individual needs. To progress all students towards accreditation at appropriate levels, providing continuous assessment, reporting and recording.
Furthermore, you will be expected to promote the safety and well-being of the children and young people. Keep up to date with developments in curriculum subject areas, new resources and teaching methods.
This school provides highly effective education, therapy, welfare and support for children aged from 11-16 years who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties as well as other complex learning needs often associated with autistic spectrum conditions and ADHD.
Typically students will present behaviour that challenges, some will have associated learning difficulties and almost all children will have encountered negative educational experiences or disruption, and consequently lack confidence in their own abilities.
This school has excellent specialist facilities, including an on-site floodlit sports area for basketball, football and tennis as well as a games room for pool, table tennis and air hockey.
In order to apply you must have evidence of the following:
-Qualified Teacher Status
-Evidence of working in a child protection environment or of child protection issues, procedures and legislation.
-A good working knowledge and understanding of curriculum requirements and assessment procedures.
-A good working knowledge and understanding of Key Stages 3 and 4.
