Southend Borough Council is proactive in trying new initiatives to get and retain their staff. For the last 2 years we have offered a Newly Qualified Social Work academy which has been a roaring success. We have successfully placed 10 NQSW candidates into various departments within the Council. As an organisation we are so thrilled to be able to offer this new initiative from the LGA to enable qualified social workers to get back into this incredibly significant line of work. We will offer the right support so you can regain your confidence, experience and knowledge and help to make a real difference to those who need it most. Why not return?
We are offering:
• 12 weeks high quality training
• Hands-on work placements
• Dedicated interview preparation and employment advice to help you find employment post placement
• You can even apply if you haven’t worked since you left social work
• The programme will also provide you with opportunities to meet the HCPC return to practice requirements
