This is a temporary role working with the Buckingshire Police for initially 3 months but could be extended .  Working hours Mon - Fri, 37 hours per week, 08am til 4pm.

The overall purpose of the role is to evaluate the information recorded on police systems and provide confidential written reports to Social Services.

Main responsibilities to include:
In order to assist with the decision making process for protection of children and young persons, undertake full secondary investigation, interrogate all relevant databases, and paper files as appropriate.
Under the guidance of the Referral & Safeguarding Sergeant produce reports for each case where an Initial Conference or a Review Meeting is called
Following a Case Conference determine outcomes to ensure:
Appropriate updates are made to relevant force systems including Control rooms; CEDAR etc
Maintain and update the databases on cases involving children and adults.
Ensure addresses are ‘flagged’ on the command and control system with details of children and families subject to a Child Protection Plan.
Maintain spreadsheet record of all Child protection conferences for audit and performance measurement purposes and supply copy to Referral & Safeguarding Sergeant.
To receive minutes from case conferences and file / record them appropriately and upload them to Livelink.
Maintain filing system (Livelink) & undertake routine administrative duties such as filing, photocopying etc

Skills and experience required:
Excellent report writing skills
Able to prioritise, organise own workload and work on own initiative
Possess the confidence to evaluate sensitive and confidential information and make decisions in a high pressure environment where accuracy and thoroughness is vital.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to forge positive relationships at all levels both in and outside the organisation
Proven ability to undertake research and analyse information
Proven ability to operate in a secure, confidential environment and to recognise sensitive information and deal appropriately
Previous recent experience in the field of Child Protection /PVP issues. Clear grasp of Child Protection processes and experience of inter-agency and partnership work and networking
