We currently have an opportunity for a Repairs and Voids Surveyor to join our dedicated team in the Midlands and we really want to hear from you if;
You are a team player with knowledge of housing maintenance, repair specifications, diagnosing defects and remedial works;

Are customer focused with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships;

Have an organised and structured approach to work;

Are able to work with minimum supervision and plan and prioritise your own workload and the workload of others;

Have the ability to work on your own initiative whilst maintaining a team ethos.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as an integral part of a dedicated repairs and voids team. You will provide a comprehensive surveying resource for the Assets Department, covering all aspects of Responsive Repairs, Major Works and Voids.

Within this role you will be responsible for inspecting housing stock and building works with a view to preparing specifications and compiling tender / contract documentation to delivery repair and void works; working within authorised budgets and to agreed quality standards and ensuring that contractors and suppliers perform to specification and contractual terms. You will also be expected to manage insurance claims related to properties, limit risk to the organisation through working knowledge of legislation risk management and specify, authorise and manage works to completion, carrying out pre and post inspections.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player who puts customers first, will be qualified to a HNC standard (or equivalent) as a minimum and will have a positive 'can do' attitude. You will be highly organised with a passion for service excellence and continuous improvement and will be a strong communicator who is confident when liaising with people at all levels. Being capable of working to deadlines is essential as is having knowledge of housing maintenance, repair specifications, diagnosing defects and remedial works. You will ideally also have strong knowledge of social housing management and of housing / property management systems (Northgate or similar). You must have a valid driving licence and daily access to a car for business use.
