A client of ours based in the BD5 area of Bradford are currently recruiting for a Mortgage Recoveries Agent to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

Job Description 

You will help our customers at a time when they need us most; often facing extremely sensitive financial or personal situations, using your expert skills, experience and knowledge to carefully understand their individual circumstances, offering your full support whilst exploring options and solutions to ensure are customers are fully supported.

Working within the Legal Team you will be responsible for monitoring mortgage accounts in arrears, preparing and overseeing possession actions through the litigation court process and providing a highly specialised service including the instruction of solicitors and liaison with third party suppliers.

The majority of your time will be spent talking to customers to understand their circumstances so you can assess the appropriate solution for them, this could range from a payment plan to address the arrears or a decision to proceed with an eviction.

You will also be required to complete limited administration work relating to customer mortgage account, along with responding to any written correspondence from the customer.

Working with a calm, reassuring and logical approach is paramount, whilst having the ability to meet the demands of a high performance organisation in a heavily regulated environment. Compliance to training and competence framework through regular observations and Team Manager feedback.


In this rewarding role you will need to be able to process information accurately, be used to working with the public, using your initiative and be a good problem solver whilst having extensive life skills and responsible attitude.

Experience / Qualities Required;
•Previous customer service experience gained from retail, face to face customer service environment or contact centre environment with a desire to deliver exceptional customer service.
•Mortgage litigation experience and knowledge of the litigation court process is desirable.
•Experience of working in an environment where the requirement to follow due process and procedure is paramount.
•GCSE Maths and English minimum Grade C / completion of vocational or other college course or equivalent relevant experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with difficult or demanding customers
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Outstanding listening skills and ability to empathise with the customer
