A South East London Primary School seeking a term time only all round office candidate, who is confident on the telephone and in person as well as having strong admin and IT skills. This role is a permanent post however is likely to start on a temporary basis. It would be ideal for you to have experience within a School environment however strong non school Reception and Administration experience will be considered. 

You would be expected to do the below and more: 

Reception / Admin -

Welcome visitors, issue visitor passes, check ID and deal with enquiries
Monitor the visitor’s book/CCTV 
Pupil data entry on to the school system 
Answer all incoming calls and take and distribute messages including radio
contact with playground staff
Retrieve messages from answer phone and action accordingly
Sort and distribute post
Accept/sign for deliveries
Arrange meetings/appointments in diary for all staff

Attendance administration - 

Maintaining Class Registers; entering absence/late marks on to system 
Monitor attendance registers/liaise with teachers
Data input for SIMS attendance
Contact parents when absence is not notified
Identify/monitor poor and good attendance and send out communication to parents using SIMS in relation to this 
Produce attendance reports from SIMS as required
Update spreadsheet with statistics of  absences  
Report absences to Social Workers for specified children
Liaise with Attendance Advisory Officer on pupil absences.

Pupil Records - 

Organise, maintain and update all pupil records regularly
Update/store all pupil information on SIMS and paper records
Regularly check that pupil information is accurate and up to date
Organise/follow up information for new pupils immediately 
Send on pupils records for school leavers immediately

School Dinners - 

At the start of the new school year update new Dinner Money system on the
computer entering new pupils, holidays etc.
Collect, reconcile and bank staff and pupil school meals monies
Completing all statistical returns to the Borough on a weekly and monthly basis,
including month-end dinner money balances
Liaise with kitchen and meal supervisor’s re: school dinner numbers, diets, packed
lunches etc.
Contact parents re outstanding dinner money and make referrals to Greenwich
Update computerised dinner money system with ‘Free School Meal Entitlements’
and liaise by telephone with Pupil Benefits.
Carry out Year-End procedures of dinner money system. Ensuring all debts has
been collected before running reports.
