Quality Systems Engineer

Reed’s Midlands Engineering team have been asked to help source a Quality Systems Engineer to replace an internal mover. Based in Nottingham, the Engineering company specialise in the manufacturing of electronical products for a variety of industries including automotive and security. They produce a range of equipment including connectors and sensors.

The Role.

Reporting directly to the Quality and Environmental Manager, the Quality Systems Engineer will be based in Nottingham and have a number of key responsibilities to help support the company, which will include but are not limited to:

Assisting to maintain the company’s accreditations towards standards, including ISO9001 and 14001, plus any future standards that are introduced, and to make sure if any training is needed that it’s carried out.

In preparation to onsite visits by certifying bodies, where you will be liaising with them, you will be expected to perform internal audits and ensure the company is fully prepared for any external audits.

You will also have a responsibility to assist with any rectifications that may needed following an audit, which would also include reports such as Defective Material Reports and also 8D reports

The Person.

This position does lean more towards Quality of the Quality Management System, as opposed to Product Quality, however it would suit anyone from within a Quality environment.

It will be preferable to have knowledge of ISO standards, and to have been in a position previously where you have been exposed to helping to maintain these within a company, or working towards these standards within your position.

There will be a substantial amount of auditing within the role, so would be beneficial if you have previous experience of conducting audits against standards, or even have an auditing qualification.

As you will be conducting a variety of reports, it would be ideal if you have experience of 8Ds, FMEAs and have a good competency with Microsoft packages.
This role will also suit someone who is very organised and can plan and structure their workload to ensure efficiency.

You will also need to be able to communicate with a range of different internal and external personnel, through verbal and written methods.
