A rare opportunity has become available in the North Yorkshire area. My client is looking for a  Purchase Ledger and Procurement Controller to join their expanding business as part of the accounts team in Northallerton.

The successful candidate will report in to the Finance Manager and will have full responsibility for both Purchase Ledger and Purchasing. 


Main Duties 

Handle all aspects of the Purchase Ledger
Bank Reconciliations 
Supplier payments
Investigate invoice queries 
Matching and Batching
Coding invoices
Payment runs
Month end duties 
Developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new suppliers to ensure competitive prices are obtained
Developing targets and strategy on ongoing cost improvements
Maintaining Purchasing best practice and techniques for contract tendering
Negotiating retrospective discounts from all suppliers and monitoring target achievement progress
Ensuring price increases are only levied in line with company policy
Introducing quarterly supplier performance reviews
Visiting suppliers, as and when required, to carry out suitability appraisals
Sourcing new products and suppliers
Attend both company and supplier meetings
Complete a weekly and monthly reports
Monitor commodity indices on a weekly basis



Sage 50, word and excel skills are essential
