An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Project Support in Corporate Affairs to join a leading company based in Belfast.

This is a temporary position initially for 6 months – has the possibility to be extended

Hours of work: Monday – Friday (37 hours per week)

With an hourly rate of £25.37 p/h based on a salary of £48,829 per annum

Job Purpose:

You will be establishing and managing the business system, which will act as a central coordinating, information and knowledge sharing hub for portfolio of programmes and projects.

Essential Criteria:

  • A university degree or professional qualification, with at least 4 years of relevant Project/Programme/Portfolio Management Office experience within a major organisation
  • Ideally with Prince 2 Practitioner certification and previous experience utilising a project methodology (e.g. PRINCE 2, or other methodology)
  • Experience of personally managing and leading significant technology related change within an organisation
  • Experience of matrix management of teams across multiple sites, creating a sense of teamwork
  • Experience of staff development and performance management of experienced professionals, including setting and monitoring objectives
  • Experience of Influencing direct reports and other resources without a direct line reporting relationship
  • Competent using desktop IT, ideally have experience of working with MS Project, Visio & Power BI
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Add value to programmes and projects through the effective application of knowledge, experience, skills and support tools, ensuing senior management and stakeholder visibility of progress across the entirety of the portfolio
  • Support effective business case development by working collaboratively with Economists, Senior Responsible Owners, project managers and key stakeholders to ensure organisational alignment and robust business justification for projects
  • Work effectively with the procurement team, Construction & Procurement Delivery (CPD) and external commercial suppliers for the solutions specification, procurement and implementation
  • Develop effective portfolio, programme and project Risk Management processes in line with corporate risk management processes and procedures
  • Coordinating programme and project Assurance activities and supporting Business Change Managers to realise Benefits
  • Any other duties as required
