REED are working with a family ran organisation which has origins operating from 1991. From beginning as a small engineering firm they have now developed into a number of different business segments including Hospitality, New Energy, Traditional Energy, Real Estate and Drilling Services. They currently operate in 7 countries, primarily in Europe.

One of their primary locations which operates in all business sectors accept drilling services is the Czech Republic. From here they are developing their New Energy division in Prague into a substantial and profitable business unit within the group, beyond the 3 solar photovoltaic power plants currently under ownership. In order to do this they require a Project Development Manager to join the New Energy division who will first assist on the commercial acquisitions and later execute a strategy on the project management of these.

Job responsibilities:

● Identify and supervise the completion of the 5MWp German solar PVPP rooftop portfolio construction, its connection to the grid, re-financing and launching its operations:
○ Effective coordination and leadership of the entire in-house project team and external EPC/suppliers/advisors to ensure the successful execution of the project. In-house project team consists of technical, legal, tax & structure, financial control specialists.
○ Ensure the completion of the procurement & delivery of the necessary equipment and technical, and other advisory services needed for the successful project execution.
○ Ensure the highest quality of the equipment installation
○ Ensure the execution of the project within the budget and on time.
○ Assist in obtaining the refinancing.
○ Negotiate and employ the needed service providers for effective and quality operations of the portfolio (e.g. operation and maintenance service provider, security service providers, insurance companies, etc.).
● Together with the NED Director, identify new businesses within the New Energy Division strategy in CEE region + select countries:
○ Scout the legislation changes/technology developments/markets for identification of new opportunities in renewable generation, energy storage, micro-grids, energy efficiency and other technologies across the following countries: Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, France, Spain, Italy. Other countries may be considered as well.
○ Development of a pool of advisors/brokers/investment bankers/developers to source new projects that fit the strategy.
○ Evaluation of business opportunities and preparation of preliminary feasibility studies.
● Lead the execution (acquisition or development) of the identified business opportunities within the budget and on time, including but not limited to:
○ Assist in a detailed evaluation of opportunities in order for the management to decide whether or not to acquire/develop the business opportunities.
○ Conduct negotiations with the sellers/developers/relevant stakeholders.
○ Coordinate external advisors and in-house team to develop appropriate structures for the specific business opportunities.
○ Coordinate the execution and review of the technical, legal and tax due diligence.
○ Negotiate with the financing banks.
○ Coordinate the acquisition/development of the business opportunity.
● Assistance in creating the DFG NED brand
● Assistance in management of acquired, developed and existing assets:
○ Set-up and consequently manage an operational management team.
○ Assist in preparation of, optimize and execute the operational budgets.
○ Participate in handling all administrative matters with respect to the local and federal authorities.
○ Ensure a timely preparation of technical and operational managerial reports.

In order to be a strong fit for this position you will have: -

● Master’s degree in Economics/Engineering/Legal
● Minimum 5-7 years of full cycle of project execution & business development experience
● Past experience in the renewable energy and/or energy industry is a plus
● Past experience in acquisition is a plus
● Good business development skills
● Obligatory language skills: Czech (fluent), English (proficient) and preferred German (intermediary).
