A rapidly growing and global leading company for Strategic Engineering providing Technical Consultancy / In-house Engineering for Automotive, Aerospace, Rail and Defence / Prototype Design and also Production of Low Volume, High Value and complex engineered products.

Your new role
Your new role as Projects Buyer will manage new design projects and their delivery from cradle to grave. 

Your role will work very closely with design and engineering teams to understand new engineering projects and you will be responsible for developing a supply chain of sub-contractors and suppliers to fulfil the projects.

Often working in a Technical Consultancy or Prototype environment, your role will understand and communicate clearly technical specification changes to your supply chain, allowing sufficient lead time for on-time delivery, or consultancy the business of realistic lead times they should expect to be working to.

Working as a Project Buyer in an environment supporting a large portfolio of world leading OEM's, your role will investigate previously successful projects to allow you to quickly develop a supply chain with established suppliers as well as sourcing the market and select new suitable suppliers.

Your new role will own the P&L of your project(s) and ensure their successful delivery against budget.

To be successful in this role
Vital to this role is previous experience working in the capacity of a Project Buyer, NPI Buyer or maybe a Sub-Contracts Manager role with manufacturing experience.

It is essential you have experience in the engineering / manufacturing industries with experience working on engineering focused projects from cradle to grave.

You will have technical engineering experience in terms of buying and will be competent with technical drawings, understanding the significance of technical specification changes and having the ability to clearly and effectively communicate these changes to suppliers to ensure their successful production.

You will be familiar in running projects to a P&L and will have previously ensured projects are delivered to budget.

It is vital you are a successful buyer within an engineering driven environment e.g. automotive, aerospace or other low volume, high specification and high value manufacturing environments.

Fluency with MRP is vital and the commercial acumen that comes with a proven Project Buyer.
