Are you an experience Programme Manager with a background in public sector?

A large public sector organisation based in Somerset is currently recruiting for an interim Programme Manager to lead on a Sustainability and Transformation programme (12 months initially)

Duties and Responsibilities
-1. Provide overall direction and leadership for the delivery and implementation of the programme.
2. Manage the interface with key senior stakeholders, both internal and external, and high level partners
3. Lead and facilitate identification and assessment of strategic options for programme delivery, planning the delivery of the overall programme and its activities to achieve a beneficial change in line with the strategic goals of the organisation
4. Develop and implement a programme evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the programme and to identify areas for improvement, influencing key stakeholders
5. Ensure that programme activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.
6. Determine programme budget and ensure that the programme operates within it or as refreshed through an updated Business Case.
7. Identify and evaluate risks and issues associated with programme activities, gather and process relevant information, working across disciplines and organisational boundaries and connecting strategic risks and issues and bringing mitigation / resolution outside of service boundaries.

Person Specification
- Proven Programme Management experience
- Good knowledge of commercialism in the public sector
- Leading the transition of a service from within a local authority into a discrete independent commercial organisation.
- Experience in outsourcing essential
- Understand the structure of such a transition – stages, considerations and leading them through
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Familiar with Procurement/HR processes/requirements
- Credible knowledge with relevant specialisms  - be in a position to liaise, advise and sustain competence within subject matters in all areas of the process
