Reed Procurement and Supply Chain are currently recruiting on behalf of a well known Manufacturer based in Bridgwater - interim Production Planner (3-6months)

The Production Planner will have full responsibility for ensuring that the correct job pack is created, maintained and delivered in the most effective and accurate manner according to appropriate batch size.

Scope & Relationships:

You will work closely with the Production Manager and Production Supervisors to ensure that all jobs are produced and dispatched within the given timeframes and quality standards. You will be the first point of contact for internal customer service.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
• Schedule and progress all orders to achieve the required deliver dates, taking in to account the availability of account resources.
• Troubleshoot common problems which occur during production, such as staff shortages or issues with machinery.
• Report and communicate any unachievable requirements at the earliest opportunity.
• Work with other members of the Planning team to manage production tasks and improve runtime.
• Review production plans to identify and report potential risks to Management.
• To act as the first point of contact for any queries relating to the customer or shop-floor.
• Plan equipment, material and manpower needs for the job order.
• Develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses.
• Plan and monitor material movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations.

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience of planning/scheduling within a fast-based environment, Understanding on the Supply Chain
• Advanced Excel user.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
• An understanding of MRP and Manufacturing planning techniques.
